What are those numbers and letters next to the Product Boxes ?
The Amount next to the dollar sign is the lowest price of the item at the time it was listed on the site. The LETTER next to the number is the SalesRank CODE, relative to the actual salesrank. For BOOKS the codes and corresponding approximate sales ranks are:
- L (Low) = 1-500,000 (1-50,000 for CD's/Music)
- M (Medium) =500,000-1Mil (50,000-100,000 for CD's/Music)
- H (High) = 1Mil-2Mil (100,000-200,000 for CD's/Music)
- V (Very High) = 2Mil + (200,000 + for CD's/Music)
- N=Nil/None/Nada/Zero/Zilch/Nothing!
What is an OOSA ?
Oops, maybe we should have named this OOPSA, Instead. Every book dealer knows what OOP is - Out of Print. Amazon appears to have taken OOP books to a new level of creativity. They are listing many OOP books with very long delivery times, weeks or months, which usually means never. The item is usually listed at RETAIL, take orders for them, and most of the time never procure the item and have to cancel the sale. Many of these items are scarce and you will see them priced accordingly, sometimes many times more than the Amazon (order it and wait) price. Often a seller unfamiliar with the item may list it at or below Amazon's price - at which point it becomes an arbitrage opportunity - an easy way for a savvy buyer to pick up a bargain. While perusing the OOSA's on our site, pay extra attention if you see an item offered where "best price" is the same or lower than the Amazon price. OOSA - Out of Print AND Out of Stock at Amazon.

On this site, we do not date the messages (too much clutter) as this method is more designed for actual blogging sites, where the message content changes frequently.
